PREVENTION
Take responsibility for your own health. Most diseases can be avoided with proper nutrition, exercise and lifestyle changes. Thus, eliminating the dangerous side effects of prescription and over-the counter medications.
NUTRITION
Your body needs essential nutrients each and every day; 60 minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 essential amino acids and essential fatty acids. Without these nutrients your body cannot and will not function properly, thus leading to disease/illness. In fact, every disease known to man can be traced to nutritional deficiency.
Eat only natural foods avoid artificial sweeteners and man made products (I.e. synthetic vitamin’ supplements which cannot be digested/assimilated).
Cholesterol and fats are important in the development and maintenance of the brain and central nervous system. Eggs and real butter are excellent sources, in moderation (1-2 eggs / 1 tbs. of butter per day). Avoid margarine and ‘fat free’ products which do not provide nutrition.
WATER
Water is very important in cellular metabolism, anti-aging and weight loss. Drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces per day minimum of fresh water: deep well, spring, reverse osmosis, distilled or bottled water. Avoid ‘tap’ water, it contains chlorine and fluoride, our bodies were not meant to ingest these products. Avoid dehydration which draws water from our tissues, including our skin causing wrinkles Also, increased water consumption will aid in fat metabolism, allowing you to lose weight.
WEIGHT LOSS
Remove the word ‘diet’ from your vocabulary. You cannot live without food/water. As your body begins receiving the proper nutrients, the ‘cravings’ should subside. However, listen to your body. When you want something salty or sweet, eat it (in moderation), when you are thirsty drink Water’ You will eat less, thus losing weight. You can also control the amount of weight loss by the amount of exercise--calories taken in versus calories burned. Healthy weight loss should result in a decrease in body fat, not muscle or organ tissue.
EXERCISE
Aerobic/Anaerobic: Aerobic exercise Involves the use and burning of oxygen (walking, running, cycling, swimming, rowing, stair-climbing, aerobic dance/step) Aerobic exercise is very, very important. It aids in the prevention/treatment of cardiovascular disease, osteoperosis and obesity. The term anaerobic means without oxygen. Weight lifting is an example of anaerobic exercise, it is important in the development and strengthening of muscles.
Everyone should begin an exercise program immediately - being grateful that it is possible. Start by w a minimum of 1 mile on flat ground, then Increase speed, incline and distance as your body becomes more comfortable. Jogging ‘a slow run should be implemented with your increase in strength. Finally begin running gradually improving to 30 minutes per day.
With exercise and proper nutrition you will be healthier than 99% of all Americans.
IT’S NEVER TOO LATE
Our bodies are constantly rejuvenating; celIa ‘die’ arid new ones are ‘born’ every second. Our longevity and amount of disease is based upon the envfronment the new cells are born’ In. By changes in nutrition and exercise, cells will be brought into a healthy environment, making it possible for a sick person to be come ‘well’ Prescription and over-the-counter medications only entertain our symptoms as the body heals jf In most cases the side effects of these drugs are worse than the conditions, supposedly being treated. The cancer rate has risen at an alarming rate arid is believed to be directly related to the over utili zatIon of medications. Breast and cervical cancers were almost non-existent before the invention of the PILL; avoid it and aJLdrtiga Our bodies are amazing, more complex than any machine or compi.iter, self regulating and self healing but it must receive the proper fuel and maintenance. We tend to take our bodies for granted and accept a lower standard of health. The best antibiotic is a healthy immune system. DO NOT BECOME A VICTIM OF MODERN MEDICINE!
THE NEXT GENERATION
Hereditary factors are nothing more than the environment in which we are conceived and grown. Thus, the importance of providing the most natural (un-medicated) surroundIngs for the baby in the womb. Practice proper nutrition nd remain active, without over-exertion, during your pregnancy. To have healthy children, you must be healthy yourself.
